My Tracks
This is a map of the ride I did with Mike Both on Saturday. I tracked it using the My Tracks app on my phone. We started at the Hidden Hollow elementary school and rode south to Unity Pass Valley. We hit more mud than we expected so we had to turn around. It was a six mile ride and it felt great to be out.

One year ago
I was laid off from E*Trade Financial one year ago. Much has changed since that day. Some questions have been answered, while others have not. We have experienced tragedy and triumph in our lives, as we've lost family members and had lean financial times. Two scriptures have stuck out to me through this experience-
"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalms 46:10
"...nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted." 2 Nephi 4:19
I try to listen every day, and I just started recording God's evidence in my journal. I want to take time every day to notice something that proves God's love to me.
The last year has shown me who my friends are, and I hope I can recriprocate that friendship.

Washington funeral trip
We just got back from Washington for Tom Mounts' funeral. He was a good man. We took the opportunity to relax a little at the Twin Rivers golf course with our kids and brothers-in-law. Before you make fun of my golf swing, know that this was my first time at the range. I cranked a few few golf balls out to almost 200 yards. That felt great.
We took the kids to Snoqualmie Falls.
It was a sad occasion, but a great time to be reunited with family. It's always nice to hear stories about a great man. It gave me the opportunity to refocus on a few things that should bring me greater happiness and success.

Compulsion
Charms in limited supply
And refusing to stretch
That indefinable nothing
Somehow keeps pushing you
Finding the right words
Can be a problem
How many times must it be said
There’s no plan
It had to happen
Got to move on sometime
And it’s about time
By putting one foot in front of another
And repeating the process
Cross over the street
You’re free to change your mind
Strength through diversity
Couldn’t have put it more plainly
Got to move on sometime
Got to move on sometime
Got to move on sometime
Got to move on sometime
Charms in limited supply
Under threat of extinction
That indefinable nothing
Somehow motivates you
Finding the right words
Can be a problem
How many times must it be said
There’s no plan
It had to happen
Got to move on sometime
And it’s about time
By putting one foot in front of another
And repeating the process

Strength through diversity
Couldn’t have put it more plainly
